Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)
Diagnosis and minimally invasive, catheter-based treatment for blocked arteries in the legs.
What it is
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a narrowing of the arteries that carry blood to your legs, usually caused by atherosclerosis (plaque buildup). It can lead to leg pain or cramping when walking (claudication), non-healing wounds, and — if left untreated — serious complications.
Why it's done
Restoring blood flow relieves leg pain, improves your ability to walk, helps wounds heal, and lowers the risk of limb loss. We evaluate PAD with a pulse exam, ankle-brachial index (ABI) testing, and ultrasound.
What to expect
Many blockages can be opened through a small puncture using minimally invasive, catheter-based techniques — balloon angioplasty, stenting, or atherectomy — often with same-day discharge. We also guide medication and lifestyle changes to keep your arteries healthy.
